Handing In A Paper To The New Teacher - Poem by Tim Kimball

The distaste that
Seems in the forefront
Is a lie,
But one that's perpetrated
By necessity,
As a defense
Against those that have
Judged you,
Yet hide from you
In the shadows
Of their own souls.

Signing up
At the booth,
Signals the earl
Of the nine lives,
That submitted entries
For the hope
Of love's immortality.
