Happiness Starts Now

Happiness starts now
I whispered in a dream
To no one but the skies
And God since he was listening
Happiness is glistening
Beneath small stones
Where dark moss grows
Where the ferns bend down
In an unseen wind
It ripples through the water washing over
me in baptismal fonts remembered
candles and saints in the long shadows
It carries me under the opal of the sun
where mild as milky quartz the moon pours down and it
sets me down on shores I almost remember
pale iris coloured in the music of arriving home
And it is my heart that is surrounded verily
By a peace I have never owned.
Before.
