Today it is your birthday
Happy Birthday to you I will say,
Another candle placed on your birthday cake
With maybe another year's ache.
I hope that the birthday candle burns bright
I hope it brings you both joy and delight,
Because today it is your birthday
So, happy birthday again to you I will say.
We have prepared for you a birthday plate
So, unto which you can celebrate,
Upon it we've placed joy, kindness and care
And knowing for you we will always be there.
Your friends and I all gather together
Of course with your children and father and mother,
We all sing to you our birthday wish
Of course with cake and icecream also on your dish.
For you we all are now singing
Hopefully love and joy our voices are bringing,
