My little hands touched your chin when you held me close to you
My little curious eyes searched your face to find how much you loved
My little feet touched your elbows and I felt how secure I was in your arms
My little mouth gurgled to kiss you and tell you how lucky I was
I was scared when my little feet was made to touch the ground
My fingers tucked in your palm gave me the courage to walk on the ground
You taught me to walk fearlessly and you made me to run courageously
You picked me up when I fell and hugged me until I smiled happily
You were my bed just tough and fine
The perfect one to get a good sleep at night
The warmth of your chest made me feel comfortable
You made me feel safe, secure and satiable
I loved to sit on your shoulders and it felt like touching the sky
'My daddy is the strongest' I cheered till my mouth was dry
You were a playmate who would lose every game to make me happy
You taught me cycling you taught me volleyball and things hard to forget
You made me imagine the shining stars in the constellation
You made me see the moon in different phases
You made me look at those planets which never shine
You made me believe that I can touch the sky
Here I am your young grown up daughter
Who still believes daddy is the strongest
Who believes daddy has every answer to her question
Who knows she is still his little princess
You encourage me to fly high to touch the sky
You make me believe that after rains comes the sunshine
With you I feel everything will be fine
Your smile comforts me that everything will be right
I sometimes do get mad at you and I know you feel bad
I quarrel and fight not that I don’t respect but because equal poles repel
But when you are disappointed I feel nothing is right
Your crestfallen face makes me teary and I cry
Like father like daughter is the perfect phrase that describes us
My fingers and finger nails are exact copy of yours
You like the same sweets that I like
We both fall sick at the same time
You are my hero that no one can deny
The love that you have showered on me can't be defined
To make me safe you passed through all hurdles
You made sure I got everything I deserved
Today on Father's Day I write to tell you how much I love you
You are a perfect dad that every girl wishes she had
You are a friend with whom everything I can share
I hope one day I will make you proud and bring that smile I dream about
Very touching. Some poems bring tears to one's eye. this is one of them. Yes your daddy is always strongest and no one can damage your feelings for him
Beautiful piece of poetry, elegantly penned as tribute from inner recesses of the heart to a strong and loving dad. The piece made me pause awhile to reminsce on beautiful attributes of my own dad. A lovely poem indeed. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
This is about the best father poems I've read. My full vote! Please read my poem 'Calculus Of A Time'
