Happy Holidays? Poem by Stan Rodriguez

Happy Holidays?

Holidays are made for happy people
those deeply in love
who have the time to share a smile and an embrace.

I remember loving Christmas in the winter
the flowing snow and breezes by the bay.

The colored lights that lite the room with laughter
and the mistletoe
that helped me catch a kiss—somewhere along the way.

And I remember Valentine's—all dressed in red
with candy kisses and spring flowers in array.

Hearts that said I love you—
and sweet nothings in the afternoon.

Yes—Holidays are made for happy people
not for the lonely
who have nothing left to say.
