Harvest Heat Poem by Rob Lamberton

Harvest Heat

Rating: 5.0

Harvest Heat

The heat is beating upon the garden
Water this dry ground
Let dew spring forth into fountains

The harvest heat is upon us
The hot August Sun
The August Lily blooms

A sign unto the mountains
A trumpet thundering in the hills
A wild fire blazing

Ripen this flower
Prune away the leafy branch
The dry leaf that burns

Let the summer fowls eat
Let the winter beasts feast
The fruit has fallen to the ground
It's fragrant honey in the dust

Yet the tree is loaded
And the field a spoil
Pressure cook what you can
The day is ending
But the night is still hot

We can feel the scorching heat as so vividly depicted in this amazing poem. The occurrence of wild fire will bring widespread devastation. Liked the captivating Lily blooms.
