Hats Poem by Darwin Henry Beuning

Hats

Rating: 5.0

Life is a series
Of different hats
We will discuss
But a few

When first born
A child's hat
Hopefully, being worn
In a loving home

As a youth,
A student's hat
Worn then
And the many years beyond

Suddenly,
The hat of a spouse
Becoming bride or groom
Two, becoming one

With the birth
Of a child,
A parent's hat.
The cycle goes on

Absolutely fascinating. Life of a man offers different hats to don at different stages. Thanks.

I particularly like baseball caps like you have. I wear them on my daily run. They have a 'sporty' look.

Pictured are some of the hats in my life. The one hat we can all relate to is the Volunteer Hat.

Hank doesn't wear a hat; I can tell you that. No matter what he says, You'll never see his fez. Of course, all of the hats in your poem were simply figurative. Well done. I like it. The symbolism is great. Deserves a ten for that alone.
