Have You Ever… Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Have You Ever…

Have you ever hidden a treasure?
A belonging too valuable to measure.
You put it in a place that was remote.
There are no traces in a written note.

It’s in a secret place that has no key
Or combination for prying eyes to see.
Secure from those who stop to steal.
Its location you will not reveal…

Hidden so well that you cannot find…
Hidden from the corners of your mind.
Camouflaged so well…
That you can’t even tell.

The location is free from discovery.
It is beyond the reach of recovery.
You’ve done an excellent job.
From you, no one can rob.

It might as well be on the moon.
You’re not about to locate it soon.
You have been successful and clever.
You may find it… never.

I liked this poem. You have beuatifully narrated that hiding a treasure could mean losing it for ever.

A very beautiful poem delicately composed. It floes so gently. A mind-awakening thought. How many thoughts have been ours only to be forgotten and never recalled or shared. I wonder if they will ever be able to be retrieved like a deleted file on a computer. Makes me think of those who are now recording their every minute and move with cameras and saving the pictures. But wouldn't we become overwhelmed? Ben
