He Never Saw Her Again Poem by Dorsey Baker

He Never Saw Her Again

They met in a homeless shelter
fell in love
bonding together
gave them a kind of security
which is hard to find
in such circumstances
When he was feeling down
she would cheer him up
When she was feeling down
he would cheer her up
Times were tough!
but they knew they could count
on each other
and that helped them get through
She would be his lover and his friend
and he would be hers
The flower is beautiful
but too much water makes it wither!
unexpectedly without warning
Early one morning
she got up
and walked out of the shelter
He never saw her again!
