Heart Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Heart

Feel it.
And receive from it warmth.
Even allow yours to be touched.
To know by another,
Who may be wanting this to wish.
But think of doing it,
Too much to ask.
Yet...
Left broken and crushed,
No one gets to see.
Or know it done to prevent.
Although,
Who can live without one.
And...
Why should anyone be reminded.
To only then pretend,
Of being absent minded.
Proving...
What should be felt to feel,
Has no connection...
To neither the head nor the heart.
Or mind to relate to what it means,
To comprehend or understand...
How to feel what empathy is.
And this today,
Should come as no surprise.
Since...
Delusion, lies and fantasized lives,
To mimic, imitate and charade...
Has replaced all association with reality.
And emotions to feel them to express felt.
Unless...
One is running butt naked and screaming in pain,
Is curiosity given.
To then wonder why,
Anyone would go out of their way...
Just for the attention to get.

"Do you see that? "

-Yeah.
There is always 'somebody' trying their best,
To be noticed.-

"Aren't you a bit concerned? "

-Are you kidding?
I've recovered from that years ago.-
