Heartbeat On The Hardwood Poem by Bernard F. Asuncion

Heartbeat On The Hardwood

The squeak of shoes, a rhythm on the floor,
The orange sphere, a target to explore.
A clash of wills beneath the stadium's glare,
Where gravity defies and spirits dare.

The dribble's pulse, a heartbeat fast and strong,
A weaving dance where wrong and right belong.
A sudden leap, a soaring, graceful flight,
The net's soft swish, a moment pure and bright.

The crowd's wild roar, a wave of surging sound,
As players battle on hallowed ground.
A pass, a feint, a shot that finds its mark,
A symphony of skill within the fading dark.

The tension mounts with every ticking clock,
Each play a gamble on fate's relentless lock.
A desperate drive, a last-second fading shot,
The buzzer screams, a victory hard-fought.

From sky-high dunks, to subtle, silent screens,
A tapestry of moments, woven into scenes.
A game of passion where dreams take flight and soar,
The love of basketball, forevermore.
