Mosquitoes In The Air - Poem by Bernard F. Asuncion

Mosquitoes in the air
Fly in the light of day;
They carry their needles
To suck blood from their prey.

Mosquitoes in the air
Glide in the dark of night;
They bring noise to the ears,
Inviting for a fight.

Mosquitoes in the air
Make someone's slumber sour;
The sweet sleep is broken,
Because of their buzzer.

Mosquitoes in the air
Are threats in some cases;
For they are chief vectors
Of serious diseases.

Protect your skin from bite,
Be alert and beware;
Clap your hands to erase
Mosquitoes in the air.

    This is a lovely poem..... true to every detail......! The buzz of the mosquitoes is more irritating than their bite! These tiny creatures can sometimes cause greater harm than even a charging wild animal! A sure 10 (Report)Reply

    The recurring lines " Mosquitoes in the air" is
    likened to the sound of the mosquitoes as what
    the great Poet Aniruddha Pathak has noted.
    It make this wonderful quatrain mellifluous when read too.

    A wonderful and insightful write imbued
    with a great warning on the dangers brought
    about by mosquitoes.
    According to statistics, mosquitoes are responsible
    for half a million deaths every year.
    Mosquitoes and the diseases they spread like
    malaria, dengue, yellow fever and many more
    have posed the greatest health hazard in the world.

    Honorable poet has highlighted the mosquito crisis. Almost half a century ago, U.N.O had a program to spray in neighborhoods and to stop malaria. Then UNO stopped funding. In many countries, people miserably die of dengue fever. Mosquito population need to be cut down. Do we need dangerous mosquitoes and bedbugs in our homes? I say, No! (Report)Reply
