Holding onto the night as it's slipping away
Over the right, under the covers
There's a prayer that is spoke, said by the prey
This debt has been paid, unspoken lovers
Secrets are buried, deep, under siege
To the ones that believe, the lights undercover
The boogeyman smiles cause no one can see
No one but me, not even mother
Blind in denial they bask in their ignorance
Bathe in it's shadows and oh, so convinced
Swallowed whole in their holy hypocrisy
Whack a mole with the hammer before this pen bleeds
Leaking life all over this alter
A virgin martyr's sacrifice to an alter egos hidden vice
The wolf among pigs covered in sheeps clothing
A foe among friends, all helpless, unknowing

Beautifully written poem as always with so much truth hidden within the lines
