Hell's Fires Poem by Sandra Feldman

Hell's Fires

Rating: 5.0

Everything seems to be
So diabolically ill, today!
Up-and-down and even sideways
Are the paths to hell,
Paved, with good intentions,
But there aren't even
Good intentions, today.
Up and down and all around
The Devil is dancing
In a perverse way
Recruiting followers,
Burning ships on his way
Brainwashing, idiots
That have nothing to say
But they help light
The fires from Hell,
Hell's fires
That once started
Will burn, the little left
That's good and decent
Leaving us orphaned,
And in total darkness
As the devil and followers
Snuff out the last candles
Of love and goodness
One by one,
Even killing, the light
Of the Sun,
In a most sinful way,
Today!

The dark is about over, The dawn is about to break Surely, God will cast the devil and his followers into the lake of fire come judgment day.. Well composed, dear Ma’am Sandra...10+++

Thank you, dear Jane, for your excellent view and words on this poem. In the last few days, a friend and I have been discussing, our evil times and " the end of the world as we know it" It is uncanny and so mysterious that you expressed the same thoughts! and felt so clearly what was being said in this poem. On a more poetic tone, loved your phrase 'sets the scene and lights the fire" .

Wonderful poem. Sets the scene and lights the fire. We see dancing on the graves of the righteous. Actually, in my mind's eye the end of the world as we know it.
