Hello Poem by Melody McKinstrie

Hello

Rating: 5.0

What is in a word?

It really was an innocent thing to say.

But to me it had so much meaning

As I had dreamt of it

And I had fantasized

It really was my own fault that

The anticipation was so great

But that is me,

My romantic nature holding sway.

So what was I looking for?

Was I looking to see his eyes?

Was I looking to see his lips

Upon which the word was formed?

Was I looking at his body language?

Could I possibly take in the whole package?

Hearing it uttered,

The cadence and the timbre

How it would compare

With what I had imagined.

What is this word that evokes such thought in me?

What is this word that could have me weak kneed?

If he at all compares to my visions when he speaks?

Like I said at first,

It is very innocent,

It is just a normal greeting.

It is the word Hello.

So now you know.

And I am still waiting.
