Her Warm Fire Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Her Warm Fire

Sorrow needs joy and blue sky
Mountains, fountains and tides

Poems of the sea rescue the forlorn
Arduous journey of the soul
Those gone no longer mourn
Life is heavy with peering ghosts
Her arms are warm like sunshine
We walk the caress of oak and pine

Sunset by the ancient harbor
We sit like shells from the tide
You tell me our love must go farther
I carry sorrow I cannot hide
Refrain, close the door to more pain
Let your heart come out of the rain

I grieve like a wound bleeding
Your smile is my gardens light
What poetry are you reading
You say, poems where seagulls fly
I need her fire
Her soft wise fire

The ice is slow to melt
By your warm fire I melt
