As I walked along this highway
I wondered of those who taunted me
And those who wanted to be my friend
I cannot help crying on the asphalt
With my shoes worn down to my bare feet
Feeling the silence of the solitude that
Becomes the stones beneath me
I am a lone woman looking for my destiny
However, how it takes
And those who wanted me to perish
Underneath their pity will,
Someday get their wish
But not from my own hand
As I walk onto the stairs to heaven
Laughing
Beautifully expressed poem. Liked the closure lines. Very inspiring.
A beautiful and touching poem with a great, meaningful and timely message. Bullying has been a part of the ills of society that needs to be addressed . We must always abhor bullying and those who are bullied must have that strength of character to repel the claws of bullying.
This is a superb piece throughout.....thanks for sharing.....

There's a lot of pain in this, the closing line is superb as it feels as if there is vindication, but its still a haunting work. Just know you dont have to be on that highway alone all the time.
