Him And Not You - Poem by Angel Croshier

I know I broke your heart
I smashed it to pieces
I didn't mean to
You pushed me away
As the confusion
Began to swallow me whole.

I broke a promise to myself
And I keep hearing 'I told you so'
But I still don't understand
How you could hurt me so

Everyone told me you would
And he would be better for me

They proved to be right
And now I understand
I had to be emptied completely
So he could fill me back up

I love him and care for him
So you no longer matter

Stop trying to ruin my life
Stop thinking theres a chance
You blew it once the first lie
Passed your lips
And that is unforgivable

I'm sorry you miss me
I'm sorry you're in pain
But how do you think i felt
When you left me crushed

A piece of me is now missing
But I think he is slowly healing me
I cant stand to be near you
For the pain is too much to bear

My heart and soul are battered
I cant take anymore abuse
Just leave us alone
Our happiness no longer includes you
