History Repeats Itself Poem by Sandra Feldman

History Repeats Itself

Rating: 5.0

There is nothing fair,
About a government that stares,
And controls everything,
Controls your Life,
Like Feudal Lords did,
In Communism,
The people do the serf's bid.

Beware!
History repeats itself,
In a most uncomfortable way,
Stealing liberty, chocking initiative,
Drowning social and individual rights,
Yesterday, tomorrow and today.

Oh, those last three words are like drum beats of doom. Because they include all of time. Still, we humans - of good will and loving disposition - will find cracks in time to steal a kiss, a kind word, a noble deed. We may be oppressed but we're not de-humanized.
