Honorable Retirement
For years you’ve held the light,
Through the storm and rain.
Pressing. Pushing. Going—
Even when in pain.
And now it is time
To put it all aside—
That grinding protocol
On which you’ve relied.
As a faithful employee
Of sobriety,
You have paid your debt
To society.
You’re a trail blazer—
One to be admired.
And now it is your time
To honorably retire.
