Hope - Poem by Kiran Devanahalli

A dream, a feeling
Fleeting yet soothing
On the wings of desire
Flew with passion and fire

It provoked and inspired
Lifted one out of the mire
Set him on a path of gold
No thought on troubles of old

One day the dream faded
Like a star that was clouded
And drew out a desperate hand
But of a sailor far from land

Battered and bruised by storm
Of despair, gloom and torn
Apart away beyond the bend
Hurt, no loyal friend could mend

Then a beacon shone afar
Hope kindled for a door ajar
Another dream, another treasure
Hope, sailor, is beyond measure
