Hostages Of The War Lurking Poem by Dorsey Baker

Hostages Of The War Lurking

When war comes lurking
It's always fought
Upon the ground
Where people live
Fought with bombs
Fought with big guns
Places where normal people
Are just
Trying to live
Their normal lives!

Their houses
Their streets
They become the targets
The people
They become the victims

When war comes lurking
Women old men
And children
They get caught
In the crossfire!

So many wounded
So many dead
No safe place in the war zone
Hostages of the war lurking
Cannot escape
The bloody battlefield!
