House Cat Poem by Dorsey Baker

House Cat

Baby I'm a house cat
I can't see
nothing but the truth
and my feet are flat

Baby I'm a house cat
my own company
is what I keep
I'm on the prowl
when everyone else
is fast asleep

Baby I'm a house cat
I aint got no lover
and I aint got no friend
Baby I'm just a
house cat
and that is
exactly
what I've
always been
