Houston's Loop Poem by Raj Dronamraju

Houston's Loop

We need to talk about your behavior
And truth through negativity and strength through criticism
And where you go when you should be going home
And raising the bar without lowering expectations
And how you got a suntan while avoiding the sun

We need to talk about circular table-saw destruction
And clasped hands under public tables
And how she and me and all the others go round and round
And come out near thrift shops and dive bars that bear the owner's first name

We need to talk about but probably won't talk about concrete trickery, a maze you can never find the way out of
And burnt leftovers and the smells the rug holds in
And the fat woman who commands a place at work by chance not by effort
And the non-stop circle from creation to its end
Undivided by roach routine and the sin of mishandled time
