Hunger, And Nothing Poem by Eric Cockrell

Hunger, And Nothing

Rating: 5.0

i cant do this anymore
i cant look into my children's eyes
my wife's tears fall like thunder
to an empty bowl
i have nothing to buy with,
nothing to trade, nowhere to beg,
and nothing to steal
the baby's sick, there's nothing
i can do except watch her die
in her momma's nothing arms
hungry, and hopeless
nothing i can do.
