A mighty storm approaches
Citizens are warned
'Evacuate'
What about:
Homeless - who have no money, no home?
What about:
Those very old - confined to a rest home and bed?
What about:
Patients in critical care - too sick or injured
to be moved?
What about:
Those, who 'Duty Calls' - workers required to stay?
What about:
The children - Who have 'No Say'?
Flee if you can!
The rest
Fall on your knees
'Meet your Fate'
A very topical poem, that seizes the moment. I like your repetition of the question 'What about? '-then listing the most vulnerable.
There should be a way that these people could be helped during these serious situations. There could be volunteers who would make certain that all people in the areas involved who are needing assistance would be alerted and assisted in evacuating.
My second reading of this topical poem, which asks the right questions. Very fine writing after watching TV News.
0600am,7 September 2017. Hurricane Harvey brought mass destruction to Texas and now yet another, Hurricane Irma approaches Florida.
0730am,25 August 2017. Hurricane Harvey is fast approaching the Texas coast. My heart goes out to those who cannot flee.
Wikipedia has an outstanding review of Hurricane Matthew and the death and destruction it caused. I'm sure readers would like The Rest of the Story.

What a tragedy it is when people are ordered to evacuate and some are unable to do so, for the reasons stated in your poem! Sad indeed.
