I Am Indebted To You Ruckmoni Poem by Abdul Wahab

I Am Indebted To You Ruckmoni

Rating: 5.0

As the mankind is indebted
to the sun

in the same way in the same amount
I am indebted to you O, Rukmoni

You allowed me
To fall and I rose to that height

To have a bath in the ghat
So today I can write

Poetry of love
If you did not rub

your fingers against mine
To day I could not make tune

Out of this broken guitar
If you did not love me for a while

Perhaps I could not love my life
I am indebted to you, Oh! Rukmoni

As the cloud to the sky
If you were not there

Out of space
I could never be human

Your warmth was there
So today in the coldness I roam free

O, Rukmoni, I am indebted to you
As freshness after shimmering heat to rain
