I Am Unknown Poem by Elizabeth Grace

I Am Unknown

Rating: 5.0

You don't know me
you don't care that
every breath is agony-
a dagger inside of me
tearing from beneath the surface.
Blood pours into my dreams, renders them
nightmares.
The most horrid circle of hell
is not reserved for the murderers.
Not the suicides,
the liars,
cheaters,
disbelievers.
The darkest circle of hell is saved
for those who lose themselves
when they lose the one they
love.

Light cannot penetrate the walls
Of darkness that surround the
Very fibers of every cell, and
Every breath is fire.

Living hell. Hell on earth
a nightmare suspended on the edge of insanity
daring me to jump into eternity
feet first, never looking back.
This isn't because of some stupid break up.
Please, give me more credit than that.
This is because
the one I cared about more
than I cared about myself,
the one who I would not only die for
but do the infinitely harder thing
and live for
left me lying senseless
and better off dead.

Darkness never
Ending.
Am I truly
Damned for eternity?

I cannot live without you.
I cannot die alone.
I carry on in darkness.
You cannot find me now.
I am lost.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Life is cool some times, yet other times it opens a sea of dullness before us. I read this poem when I am sad still I am moved to tears for the poet's grief not of my grief. Truth is truth. Death is truth and it pushes us in to gloom... Well said Elizabeth
