I And Myself Poem by Ruma Chaudhuri

I And Myself

Rating: 4.6

I and myself
Myself and me
As if the reflection
As what he wants to see.

Sometimes I want to be
As he wants to see
And I feel his happiness
On his face
But sometimes I don't,
Then, I don't like me.

I and myself
Myself and me
Through a mirror glass
What everyday I see.
Two are not the same
As two different identity.
I and myself
Myself and me.

There are two mirrors. You make your appearance according to the desires of your partner, he praises you and you see the mirror and you like yourself. Your actual mirror is your partner. A lovely poem.

It's a nice depiction of a subtle friction in between one and oneself when eying 'through a mirror glass' of a conscious mind. It's a never ending battle between our ego and sense of rationality and is true to everybody, I believe. So nicely pictured. A poem with true inner beauty that enters right into the hearts of magnetized readers.

I and myself Myself and me Through a mirror glass What everyday I see. Two are not the same As two different identity. I and myself Myself and me. a philosophical and spiritual reflection. the Budhists monks propagte this idea that we have to see our own self as if in a mirror sitting before us and talk to the self. thank you for bringing in new ideas of Self.

I agree with what others have said that you have done a beautiful job of describing the inner conflict about our inner selves and what we portray to others.

When I said you had expressed beautifully, I felt the word so truly fits your work. I see that many others also recognize that quality in your poems. This one as well. Read mine –Who Am I – Adeline

You have beautifully portrayed the inner conflicts of 'myself and me' in this poem in simple language. It leaves an appeal to the readers' minds. Did you really think I had forgotten you?
