Not because I did not text you
It means I did not want too.
Not because I did not call you
It means I have not been thinking about you.

But a choice I have
It's either I am for or against
There is no sitting on the fence.
I choose for.
If I go against what is to be dreaded more
Is the consequence.

A constant fight with my heart I have
It's so treacherous.
But I am fighting back
For the cry can be,
So disastrous.

My loyalty,
I do not want it to be misplaced
Because from the Good Book,
I do not want my name to be erased.

Just know that everything I don't do
It's not because I don't want to
But whatever I do
Is what I have to.
