Ayobami Idowu

I Cry - Poem by Ayobami Idowu

The tears of a generation are shed
through the echo's of life
When we look to the skies to
take our refuge in hope
All we see are the forsaken years of sorrow
And our comfort is lost in the disparity
that joy could find no gladness in me
because I seek my vanity to bring me peace
I am lost in the shadows of history
My memory refusing the era of bliss
