I'D Be Lost Without You Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

I'D Be Lost Without You

From you I've only heard complaints.
With divisive comments made to vocalize.
I have never gotten to get or expect,
Support from you to me to give.
And not once had I thought you to be negative.
In fact...
Your actions have provided my motivation.
With a showing my deeds and efforts you disrespect.
So please don't change whatever it is you've done.
Since nothing positive from me will come.
I need you.
More than you suspect.

'Are you 'trying' to use reverse psychology on me? '

No.
I just want you to stay as you are.
You are my inspiration.
A gift.
And don't you forget it.

'But you have never before given me credit.'

I'm giving that to you now.
Before you attempt to make changes.
Don't change.
I'd be lost without you.

'But...
I dislike 'everything' you do.'

And I don't know that?
I know that.
I'm begging you not to change.
You light my fire.
