I Did Feel The Earthly Ship Tilt Poem by Gert Strydom

I did feel the earthly ship tilt,
as if the thing were jerking
everything around me did shake,
lifeless things did jump around
as if they were coming alive

and to retain my balance
I tried to cling to the wall
while around me things were crashing down,
I thought that the whole old building

will tumble in on me,
maybe would burst,
probably would collapse
but then the twitching did stop
with some things laying broken
and alarms going off everywhere.
