I Don't Want To Sing Poem by Paula Glynn

I Don't Want To Sing

I don't want to sing
Even if I had the voice
I wouldn't sing in public
I wouldn't sing in front of friends
I wouldn't sing in front of family
Except for 'Happy Birthday'.

I have no musical talent
I can't play a musical instrument
I can't read or write music
I have no desire to perform music
I have no desire to dance to music
I have no desire to host music shows.

I like watching music videos
But I wouldn't choose to make them
I like listening to pop, rock and jazz albums
But I wouldn't choose to record them
I like watching celebrity interviews on YouTube
But I wouldn't choose to star in them.

I am just your average Joe and Jane
I am just ordinary and anonymous every day
I am just travelling along the busy road
Whether by a private car or busy bus
I have no fame or fortune
And am very happy to be this way.
