I Don't Want To Be Ugly Like You Poem by Paula Glynn

I Don't Want To Be Ugly Like You

Let me be blunt:
I don't want to be ugly like you,
You are a disgrace,
Your heart is as ugly as your face,
I used to fear you,
When I had been young and innocent,
But innocence is lost,
Sooner or later,
Your heart as empty as the cold of space.

There is no love in you,
There is only coldness,
You mean nothing to me,
You are pure poison and pure evil,
And I shall be a distant stranger,
Never to comfort or hold you,
For being nasty is your game,
And all it does is make you ugly,
Although to appear,
Beautiful at first,
But your temper is the worst.

Where is your heart?
Your conscience? Your love for people?
It seems you are devoid of emotion,
I refuse to take it,
No matter how plastic you are,
Never allowing anyone to turn on me,
I call the shots, you don't,
All you will be doing is,
Talking to the wall,
And when you are trapped,
To me you will call,
The loneliness an icy prison,
As if you're stuck in winter.

I don't need you around,
No one respects you:
Except out of fear,
Controlling, that you are,
Always acting the superstar,
Good riddance to bad rubbish,
For it will be you in tears,
And it's funny how things come around,
The tears of heartache your only sound,
Joy of the toy,
And it won't be me leaving town.
