I forgot my name
If thy remember
Place it to call me
And calm my soul
For released acceptance of a unilateral sin
Committed under a fair play
Of a man under dementia
Is it yours?
Why doubt!
If it all yours
They are good
My mind to you
I can't kill it
If you remember my name
Call me again.
If you remember my name
Call me again
Or let me sleep well
Petals faded in summer
And unconscious days of pain
Remembered only pink
Conscious backed in delight.
If you remember my name
Call me again
Otherwise let me sleep
in the shield of green roses.
Dementia takes away most of our treasured memories! Imagine a situation when one is not able to remember his own name! How horrible it would be.....! It is death in life...! We should try to reach out to those people who suffer from dementia! Only when we lose eyesight, we think how blessed we have been when we could see! It is the same with memory too... even graver is the loss of memory! A great write!

A very sad and frightening condition that robs the victim of who he is and robs his family too. A beautifully written poem, very moving write!
