As soon as I left the airport
My nose started to give warning.
Then, after lunch at Crab Catcher
I couldn't stop my nose from running.
I came from Pennsylvania
For my granddaughter's birthday feast
Which was scheduled on Saturday
For families and other friends.
I couldn't stay close or hold her
Because I may have common cold.
I went to a separate room
Encircled myself with doom.
Thanks for families and in-laws
Who has offered medicines, food
Who have stopped by briefly to ask
And to wish me a quick turn around.
I hope that by Saturday noon
I'll be able to join the feast
To be able to greet our guests
And to sing Happy Birthday song.
