I Had A Box Of Silver Bees

i had a box of silver bees
of all the things that worried me
into that box I put the things that sting
Pandora in reverse, mending a little, the universe
and locked the lock
stopped watching the clock
and went about with ease
in those times everyone was restless
everything was restless
silver bees in search of purple flowers
not to be found and fuming
and so I locked them away
all the things so soul consuming
and learned content
stopped counting how each day was spent
and learned to lean on God, small tree in the wind
to trust for the next blue sky
to eat my toast with no honey still feeling very sunny
to wake up dreamless and having given up all heartache
to learn to dream awake
and to dream the light.
