I Hope For That Day Poem by Mark Heathcote

I Hope For That Day

I hope for that day I met you
I hoped it would, all start again...
For that second kiss that lingered
That I thought would; should never end.
There was a tragedienne feeling
That we might just become good friends
Never, knowing intimate, longing.
As the world freezes & suspends
I hope for that day I met you
I hoped it would, all start again...
Asking myself could I take the strain?
… Forget all past mistakes gone eschew.
I trembled like still, lake water wedged
As you skinny-dip, off the ledge.
