Times have been tough for you
And you always telephoned when you'd had enough
Your life like a twisting rollercoaster
Your life full of drama and problems.

I could always predict when you'd phone
Knowing people causing issues
And when you cried I'd pass the tissues
For I had been your best friend.

Time has taken you here and there
You told me you resorted to prayer
The loneliness killing you inside
The pain you used with anger to hide.

But I never pitied or felt sorry for you
I could see someone deep down I knew
I would identify with your feelings
Knowing others were acting with dodgy dealings.

You were lucky enough to find true love
In spite of men who failed the test
Men who were fake and fraudulent themselves
Men best left forgotten for they did pretend.

I hope I haven't lost you my friend
I hope our friendship doesn't end
For I will always miss you but know you're flying free
And will never forget your memory and your legacy.
