I Hurt From Stupidity Poem by Heather Z. Hanna

I Hurt From Stupidity

Tears well at every thought
Of how I lost an opportunity bought
With plaintiff cry of breaking Heart.
The sun did rise
Upon me shine.
Rejoicing, I flew
To where not I knew.
Up upon the mountain
And down the valley deep
Awaiting for the call
Of one so far away.
Again I rose
With highest hopes
And filled my Heart
With exciting love,
Only to have to wait
Again for the lonely
Voice in space.
When not finding,
I called and called.
Carrying on beseeching
And slowly coming round
To realize my bleating
Was the very sound
That drove away
An opportunity
To have a Love fulfilling.
Crying deep and crying
Long and painfully
My mistakes they rise
To show themselves
And my glimpses are fleeting
But enough to tell me
where 'ere I failed.
And now long last
I cry alone
And mourn so deep
The loss of sunlight
And rainbows
That could have been mine.
