I Like You Man Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

I Like You Man

I like you my man
You who are dear to me
Who stands in a queue for milk
Waiting for the milk van to arrive
You who wake up your children
And make them ready for school
And wait for the school bus

You my common man
Work till you feel exhausted
To make two ends meet
To keep your wife happy and
Ensure that children should not
Feel their wishes are not met

You my dear
You pay taxes in time
And afraid of law and
Law enforcement agencies
And their lists of punishments
For the defaulters and culprits

I like you
For you don't have high
Ambitions and for your sincerity
To work to keep everyone happy
Even the ailing parents
And grandparents
Whose blessing you seek

When people wants to become rich overnight and adopt unfair illegal and socially harmful ways of earning happy to see such a sincere bread earner
