I Love My Vanity Poem by Paula Glynn

I Love My Vanity

I love my beauty products,
I use luxurious face creams,
I use cleansers and toners,
That balance my skin,
I give myself manicures,
And paint my toenails.

I shave my legs,
And use sensual perfume,
That makes me appealing,
And fragrant,
No bad smell to haunt me.

I fix my face,
At my vanity mirror,
Smoothing on foundation,
Powder and concealer,
Blending beautiful eyeshadow,
And lengthening my eyelashes,
With show stopping mascara,
My plucked eyebrows,
To frame my face perfectly.

I use luscious lipstick,
To paint my lips any colour,
From reds, purples to pinks,
My lipstick re-applied after drink,
That beauty showcasing me,
At those glamorous parties,
Where I mingle,
With a flute of champagne.

In my ringed hand,
I wear beautiful jewellery:
Gold and silver rings,
A string of pearls,
And precious gemstones,
Such as rubies, emeralds,
Opals and diamonds.

My neck is adorned,
With beads and costume necklaces,
That make a big statement,
Against my beautifully made up face,
For my skin is gorgeous,
And I use soaps and body creams,
Every morning in the shower.

And I love baths,
Where I luxuriate in bubbles,
My hair messily tied up,
And when I get out of the bath,
My skin is soft and fragrant,
My hair shiny and clean,
And I apply body cream,
Like a second skin.

I love my vanity,
And beauty is a luxury,
Everyday spent preening,
And smelling lovely,
Those beauty products,
Highlighting my looks,
For I never deny myself,
And I am truly beautiful.
