I never wanted to let you fall
I only wanted to give you everything
of all this love that I had
I never wanted to hurt you at all
or make you feel down or sad
I only wanted to give you every flower
that for you I would bring
I never wanted to make you upset or mad
I never wanted to be the one
that you would never call
I just wanted to be by you forever
and share our dreams together
I never wanted to be the one
that would let your heart break
I just wanted to share a life
that we would both make
I never wanted to be that knife
that would cut you deep
I just wanted to be that morning sun
that love would always keep
and if I could take back everything said
I still would be loving you now
and not here alone instead
trying to forget you somehow
