I Notice The Rain (Free Verse Sonnet) Poem by Gert Strydom

I do notice the rain that is literally pouring down for days
with the birds still visiting me I am astonished
and while the rain do softly sieve down I do miss you,
notice everywhere in the garden new flowers rising
but our love I keep entrusting to the Lord God,
pray that He holds his omnipotent hand over you,
know that this is the earth's time of refreshment
and high above in the sky the clouds remain grey
with the ponds of wetness and rain and fog
with fruit that become fruit in nature's secret
and fountains, rivers and water-sources that are filling up
our love after decade do also come to greater meaning
as if God does supplement the new essence,
where the Lord does continually reveal your deeper beauty to me.
