I Proclaim That I Love You Poem by Hebert Logerie

I Proclaim That I Love You

I said "that I love you" this morning
And you answered: thank you
You were wrong, my darling
You should have said: I love you too.

I felt hurt. I got disappointed
You tried not to encourage
My pursuit. I was knocked down
And I felt bad like a strange clown.

If you had said that you loved me too
I would have replied: I loved you more
More than I could imagine under this décor.

I proclaim that I love you with all my soul
My goal is to keep my words, my parole
To love you as I dreamt of loving and adoring you.
