I Quit! Poem by Hannah Davies

I Quit!

So here is the day
Where I throw the cigarettes away.
I know it's gonna be hard
But in most places now it's gonna be barred.

It maybe tough
But I've smoked enough.
It will improve my health
And increase my wealth.

Need to pack it in
Not let the temptations win.
I have set the date
But don't want to put on weight.

I will no longer smell
Like an ashtray from hell.
On to my life I'll be adding more years
And slowly reducing any cancer fears.

No more smoking ten a day
At first the patches will help take the cravings away.
A lot of will power and dedication I am needing
If I have any chance of succeeding.

So many think that it won't last
But I'll show them, my smoking days are in the past.
Stop the smoking and keep myself fit
I have made the decision I'm going to quit.
