I Remember You Poem by G J Salgado

I Remember You

I was walking down the street,
When I saw you the other day,
Wondering if we would ever meet,
I knew when I looked upon your face.

That we would soon know of each other,
As our paths crossed we came and went,
Now that time has passed and it is months later,
That was the day when we finally met.

I introduced myself as we shared a laugh,
We both admitted of all the other times,
When we had seen each other in the past,
Discovering moments we both wanted to find.

Now it is years later as I sit and hold your hand,
We talk of our children as we sit,
How the years have gone and our love still stands,
Cherished memories that we'll not forget.

Hands, memories, thoughts, and hearts we held,
Our children have lived and grown,
Throughout the years of all that was heart felt,
Now they have children of their very own.

On the front porch on a hot summer day,
Remembering all of our life's simple pleasures,
Sharing our thoughts as we drink lemonade,
Now with silver hair we remember our golden treasures!
