I Stand And Wonder - Poem by JoJo Bean

I Stand And Wonder
I stand at the shores edge
The pull of the water takes the ground
that I though solid
from under my feet...
...and I stumble...

Is it a new wave
never viewed before
coming to shore?

Am I the first ever to witness
this sole obsolesce

Or is this a ancestral crest
carrying life's manifest?

...I stand and wonder...

There is something primal in our attraction to water - a first order compulsion, perhaps we're supposed to go back! Rgds, Ivan (Report) Reply

JoAnn, the pull of the water has always been strong to me living on the coast of a famous naval port. I love to walk along the waters edge and look at the waves rolling in, always wondering what travels they've had before reaching the shore before me. I have the hiss they make ringing in my ears now. Beautiful poem. Thanks for sharing it my friend.

    With eyes that do cry
    ears they say cannot hear
    for the fear
