I Still Remember Poem by Hasan Haskovic

I Still Remember

It comes and fades
Feeling, emotion
Yet the memory always stays
In short, warm frames

They creep into your head
Unnoticed, in trivial moments
Yet once the smile
You can't forget is dead
Your remedy from the torments
Frames, smiles, pure feeling
Come to your head

In sleepless nights
In moments of worry
Those frames I hold
Above the grave in which she's burried
In moments of wonder
Of faith
I see her eyes, smile
Now far too late

It's just untamed emotion
Pure feeling
This plague
This cruelty of being

I still remember
The short moments of silence
The emptiness between two worlds
The lack of violence
In the wake of you

I still remember
The bittersweet feeling
The touch, the warmth
Pure emotion of being
Sanctity of given word

I still remember
Short frames of pure harmony
The way the Sun shined throught the leaves
And washed your face away in melody
Melody of reminiscence

Promise me
That once past the blackness of day
Once past the scorched skies
We'll hold hands
On the steps where honesty lies
Where betrayal dies

Oh, how time flies
How time flies
Always dragging towards tomorrow
Yet never letting go of yesterday
Always amplifying the sorrow
Leaving you without things to say

I still remember
The promises, unison
Our unison and the scent of dreams
The reflection of sunlight on the closed window
Through which we spectated the crumbling world

It comes and fades
Feeling, emotion
Yet the memory always stays
In short, warm frames

Even though everything has changed
It never seems to go away

I still remember
